Not so great...Great Burger

On a random night, I dated my sister for supper.

Me: Let's go to Hijau, BDC to try the Great Burger.

Sis: Okay.

After ordering, we waited for our supper to arrive. I ordered mushroom burger with lamb patty while my sister had smokehouse burger with chicken patty.

Me: We'll see how great is the Great Burger is.

Sis: ......(Smile in her face)

**personal opinions

Upon eating, we nodded and agreed on the same thing. Nothing beats the street/roadside burger that you can find along the Kuching streets. Nothing GREAT of this Great Burger. The french fries were so salty and the burger was rather bland and we could not find any positive feedback of our supper, except the overall presentation. 

Pampered week

I had been pampering myself with some activities! Used 3 groupons in 2 days! Thanks to/not to Groupon~

1. Purchased the two Large 11oz Hielo groupon with RM15 (worth RM33.80 in actual value)

Original frozen yogurt with almond flakes and mango (and waffles too)! Perfect match~ 

Strawberry frozen yogurt with almond flakes and kiwi (and waffles) 

Two large Hielo are just enough for 4 person. Satisfaction guaranteed after eating this!  

 2. Hairdo with RM 35 (wash, cut, blow, treatment) (worth RM98 in value)

Finally had the courage to cut the fringe after so many years. (Several friends urged me to try it long ago) Suit me? Never mind if it doesn't since it will grow longer after few days. 

The rest of pampering one were the facial and workout!

云岩亭 Yun Yan Restaurant, Kuching

Discussing the several venues of the dinner celebration couple of weeks ago, finally we called and booked a private room at Yun Yan, located at Stutong commercial centre on the exact day afternoon.

We had to find a private room for dinner because the birthday girl, Queenie shouts pretty often. In fact, she shouts out loud when her fussy expectations are not met.

The dish was purposely ordered for the birthday girl since her grandmother said noodles must available for birthday.

 The total bill costs RM179.10, inclusive of 3 bowls of rice and drinks. The ambiance, service and food quality are okay for me. Perhaps it is rather a new place so everything seem to be presentable.

 A baby chair is chosen as a gift for the queen of the house.

#1 Gift: Baby chair 

Her lovely trio aunties (which one of them is me) bought a baby chair for her as a gift. Now she can sit happily on her own on the chair, having meals with us.

#2: Custom made birthday cake

The customized vanilla cake with a pink crown and name on top of the cake is from Taka. This 1kg cake costs RM90! But the crown was spoilt when the cake reached home. Pretty sure the baking and decorative chef was not skillful enough!

 After the dinner at Yun Yan Restaurant, we organised a picking session for the queen.

#7 Lastly, dictionary. Teacher? and a few pages of the dictionary were torn off by her.

Violence kid huh? Indeed. She can be very aggressive and violent many times. The name, Queenie really matches her.

The joy, happiness, fun and laughter that she brings to each of us has been delightful and meaningful.

#8 My masterpiece 

Apart from the baby chair, I also designed an artwork titled Queenie Ho Grows Diary for fun. It took weeks to do this as I did it during my working hours, so it had to be done secretly and stages in case my colleagues saw it. But I think someone spotted it too cause sometimes I didn't managed to minimize the Photoshop in time. Queenie has always been underweight all the time from the birth till her 13 months.

Red bean ice

Recommended chilling place--Swee Kang Ice Kacang at Jalan Haji Taha!

I don't know how to describe the exact location well but it is somewhere nearby the old Sedaya College (before relocation).

The crowds were unexpected--huge, especially during hot afternoon, weekends and holidays. You just have to wait for others for empty seats.

Swee Kang Ais Kacang, heavenly good. I love red bean!!!

There are actually two branches of Swee Kang, situated near to each other, one in a shoplot and another one is in an old house. I tried both and I prefer the shoplot one, just because the service, environment and ambiance are a lot nicer. Both prices and taste are pretty similar, just a matter of different person (close family, I suppose) managing the business.

AllI could say it is really best ais kacang stall in the town. Previously I prefer those ais kacang near  my primary school, Chung Hua No.3, but now I found a better place! Special in Swee Kang is highly recommended too because the taste is absolutely fantastic! 

Long ago I visited ais kacang at 新公园 (reservoir park). Rumours said  that the ais kacang there are good too. It was less sweet indeed but in fact I think it is not that nice. 

What's so different of the place is the design of the stalls itself. Without fan and air con, the ventilation of the place entirely depends on the natural wind.

It's 10th of April and I haven't received my pay for Mac.

Last day of March

 Went to Kota Sentosa to hunt for baby chair and air cooler. There were many furniture and electrical appliances shops there!

Speaking of 7th mile, one shall never forget the origin of Kuching infamous 3 layer tea, Fresh Food Court!

the milky taste was strong, just like I was drinking the ABC. Too bad they put too much ice that spoiled the overall quality.

One takeaway for my sister

Fruits rojak for snack. The crunchy you-tiao was awesome!

At night, I went to Starbucks Precinct 88 and joined the Earth Hour.
