Little update

1. Offer letter signed. Two and a half month extremely low paid job is finally confirmed. Going to start to work around  mid of June till end of August. Hope the couple boss are as nice as they look. Hope I won't mess up anything at work. This would be my last temporary job before I start my internship and finally be free from being a student. I would definitely miss my student's privilege but I know that everything would come to an end one day.

2. Sony voice recorder eventually is purchased at Tun Jugah Sony Centre. Hope I could get back my money as soon as I'm back in Uni during September. Really need some time to play around and get close to it.

3. A short but "adventurous" learning yet foolish trip are planned. I think this trip would be my first peak of year 2011. I need 10 respondents that could speak Malay. Or English or Chinese but not Iban languages that certainly I would never get to understand. Hope I could really meet 10 nice and friendly people. Everything should be done before I start working. This data collection has been pretty torturing. Thanks a million that I found a company for the stupid trip and I hope that she does not change her mind last minute.

4. Thinking of where to work in the future too. I want to give myself some other opportunities. Venture out or not?

KK Trip: Day 5

Went to Fook Yuen at Gaya Street for breakfast to try the famous Roti Kahwin

Fried Beehoon RM 1.50. Sunny side up: RM 1.20

Left: White Bread RM 1.30. Right : Wholemeal Bread RM 1.40

 Piece of Butter

 Walked around Waterfront

After checking out the hotel, we put our luggages in the receptionist there since our flight was 7.45pm.

We went to Centrepoint to kill our time.

Yoyo Yam Pearl Milk Tea RM 4.30 for lunch. One of the best yam milky tea I had. No wonder Yoyo was so famous and crowded all the time.

Busy staffs.

Took a taxi for RM 25 to Terminal MAS.

MAS inflight meal. Sweet Sour Fish.

Bought also ice-cream potong at the airport. I learnt from the HK dramas 富贵门 that one of the special local product of Sabah is ice-cream potong, especially durian flavors. Hand carry for the ice-cream is only allowed to short hour flights. For longer hour flights, the ice-cream has to be check in into cargo.

I bought mix flavors while Cecilia bought all durians for her dad.

Got durian, red bean, mango, sweet corn, cempedak, cendol, yam and avocado flavors.

RM 21.90 per box. 12 sticks.

Left: Red bean
Right: Cendol

KK Trip Day 4: Island Hoping

Due to unforeseen circumstances, finally Day 4 was the day for Pulau Manukan & Pulau Sapi. Glad that the day was good. At least no rain to spoil our plan.

Jesselton Point again. (A terminal for ferry and island hoping)

while waiting for our boat

Ready to bound to Pulau Manukan. Our first island.

We rented life jacket, mask and snorkel at the Jesselton Point. 3 items for RM 15 per pax. Since we went to 2 islands, it was a wise decision to rent it first as we would need to rent twice if we did it at both islands. Randomly, I chose Aparu for our trip. We had to pay RM 7.20 per person at Jesselton Point for Terminal/Jetty Fees. The expenses for 2 islands were RM 28 per person.

On the boat

 Cecilia with life jacket

Me with life jacket. Oops, the wind was so strong. No offense for my hair~

Safely reached Pulau Manukan. A notice for fish species.

We needed to pay park fees at RM3 for each person. Money sucker. Paid so much just for Island Hoping.

 Ready to snooker!

The water was so clear and blue.

It would be more fun and fascinating if both of us knew how to swim!

Pulau Manukan was a lot of fun compare with Pulau Sapi. I did not have Pulau Sapi photos as photos taken at Pulau Sapi were using Cecilia's camera. There was less fishes to see at Pulau Sapi. The scenery at Pulau Manukan was a lot better and attractive than Sapi. At first we planned to go back to KK at 4pm, but we went back earlier as it rained and there was nothing to do at Pulau Sapi. We were tired at the first snorkeling. But we had to call Aparu company to arrange boat for us to go back to KK. The wait was tiring and boring. I think 1 island hoping is fairly enough. 2 islands or even more are too tiring for me.

On the way back to hotel from Jesselton Point, finally we could stop by to snap the photos of this abandon art.

Little Italy initially was  included in my plan. But eventually I did not go as I spent a lot of money for the past few days. No more money for classy food.

For dinner, we went to this Hong Kong Recipe at Warisan Square.

Cecilia's Longan milk. A recommended drink by the staff there. Cecilia said the drink was good.

My Nyonya Fish. Good too. The rice portion was enormous.

Cecilia sweet sour pork with egg and rice. She said this was good too.

Then we walked to Central Market and Fish Market, just opposite Warisan Square. There were so many cheap veggies, fruits, dried stuffs, fishes, meats, foods and drinks. Many stalls were selling the same stuffs. I think it goes with similar price too. It all depends which one you wished to purchase with.

I wanted to hunt for Avocado juice. Avocado Juice can be found everywhere in Sabah. I simply pick one stall.

RM 3 per cup. A little bit too sweet. The owner had put so much condensed milk. It would be better if it was less sweet and less milky taste.

There were so many stalls selling the same junk foods. I picked the most friendly lady boss who kept asking us to try all the samples.

Left: Kuih Cincin (RM4). Right: Emping Blinjo Pedas (RM4). Up: Fried Sweet Banana (RM 6). My all time favourite.

There were variety of junk foods in different size of packaging. I think I had picked the medium or small packaging. When I wrote this post, my kuih cincin was totally finished. Fried Banana left half packet. I should buy more. Especially kuih cincin and fried banana. Sob!

Cecilia bought this fresh green seaweed. Full of sea-ny aroma. Only RM 1 for 1 medium pack.

I told my mom about it when we were back to hotel. She asked me to buy but since it was last night for us at KK, I did not managed to buy it. There were lots of dried anchovies, seaweed and salted fish sold at the Philipino Market.

KK Trip Day 3

We took 8am ferry back to KK. One person only allowed to bring 1 bottle of liquor only. Cecilia had to pay a penalty of RM 40. She bought 4 bottle of liquors in total,

All our stuff need to pass by the custom.

After reached KK, we bathed and went to Warisan Square to get free ticket shuttle bus to 1 Borneo.

Bought egg tart to eat while waiting for the shuttle bus

RM 1.20 for 1 small egg tart. Chicken pie costs RM 1.50. Both the egg tarts and chicken pie was good.

I ate dotts egg tart in total. One in day 3, one is day 5 before heading to airport, and one yesterday which I tapau back to Kuching.

Shuttle bus ticket from Warisan Square to 1 Borneo.

Tourists had to provide name, hotel name and room no. in order to get the ticket.

UMS was near to 1 Borneo.

Had our late lunch at Home's Cafe.

My lunch. Shanghai Noodle with drumstick. The noodle was salty.

Chinese Tea and Claypot Lou Se Fun. Cecilia could not finish this. It was too salty.

Multi Bake can be seen everywhere at KK.

Bought a Tiramisu at RM 4. Read from a blogger that the Tiramisu at Multi Bake was good. Indeed it was soft but totally no coffee at all. Only sponge cake and cheese. Tiramisu supposedly to have coffee right?

 At 1 Borneo

For dinner, we went to a cafe named Coffee Tea near the Giant. Famous for Sarawak Laksa and Tom Yam.

Cecilia wanted to order Sarawak Laksa and I wanted to try the Tom Yam. But there was no more Sarawak Laksa so she had Hor Fun.

 Not bad according to her.

My Tom Yam. Very nice but too spicy for me. Couldn't sip more than 1 spoon of the soup. I left the soup and finished the meehon. Too spicy for me but great for Tom Yam lover.

Cecilia's honey cucumber juice.
