Starbucks, Precinct 88, Kuching

Java Chip Frappuccino® blended beverage (Blended Coffee)
Starbucks coffee and chocolatey coffee biscuits blended together and topped with whipped cream and chocolate drizzle

It was good but I could hardly taste the coffee. I think there are other drinks better than this.
RM 14 for regular. I used my student card to get 20% of discount. Inclusive of tax, I pay RM11.85 for the drink. I brought the tumbler to get RM 2 discount but the staff told me I can only choose to get one discount. I chose to have the 20% as I could save more with it.

I wonder the size of the tumbler is same with the disposable cup? I think the tumbler is much more smaller.

Westwood Continental Cuisine, Kuching

Westwood was once a well known affordable place for western food. But then it has renovated and a new concept of Westwood emerged.

I was shocked that there were not much choices of western food in the menu. There were only six choices which were beef, salmon, chicken, grilled fish, fish and chips and lamb chop. I remembered there were two types of spaghetti in the menu.

Lamb Chop with black pepper sauce
I tried a piece of it and it was nice.
Fish and chips

grilled fish with black pepper sauce

Classic chicken chop RM 13.80
I chose to have mushroom sauce. The chicken portion was small. Luckily I had some light dinner before went to Westwood. It is served with french beans and french fries. The french beans was sauteed with butter. Nothing special on the chicken chop.

 Fresh Milk RM4.80.
The drink there was pricey. Even a bottle of mineral water was sold at RM3.

 The environment of the Westwood

It is a place for drinks and smoking but definitely not foods. There were many people especially guys had alcoholic drinks there. The former Westwood which emphasis in western food is no longer exist. It is replaced with a brand new concept-bar for drinks and music.

Happy Deepavali!

Centerpiece for the Deepavali in main entrance of Times Square~

A short one week holidays in Kuching.
My final year project has not progressing further and I am supposed to hand it in first draft next week to my supervisor.
Time is running out and sad I have not received any news and approval for my 6 months internship in Kuching.

Someone please accept me!

The Manhattan Fish Market, Midvalley

Late lunch after a sweet brunch at Snowflakes

Since I was not hungry that time, I order something light. Grilled Dory with broccoli and chips. I spotted the carrots words below the description of the menu but the carrots are no where to be seen. The dory portion was indeed light or in other words, small. But it was filling, mainly because of the fatty chips~

Shelvi's light grilled salmon with garden salad RM 20.90
The salmon portion was so small!

Snowflakes, Midvalley

Oh my lovable Snowflakes again! I'm a typical girl because I like desserts and sweet stuffs alot!

I want to eat the Japan Combo but it is no longer in the menu. The server said it is coming soon and I definitely don't want to miss it. I want to chew the greeny balls!

Since last time I had the Snowflakes bestseller, so I had Sesame Sensation this time.

It is the Snowflakes latest creation-blending of sesame seeds and peanut. Chewy sesame balls in creamy smooth textured peanut ice and little baby pearls complemented with delicious red bean topping.
RM 6.90
But the chewy sesame balls was not chewy at all. Baby pearls, red bean and peanut ice were just fine to me.
Shelvi loves my peanut ice! I would not recommend this because it is not as good as it seems.

Tohua Series
RM 6.50
Shelvi chose to have her preferred toppings-red bean, green bean and lotus

One bowl of Snowflake is filling~I want to chew the balls!

Rabbit Card

I bought a rabbit card when using the rapid kl bus to Times Square. Some drivers do not allowed the use of cash anymore so mostly all passengers require card to board in.

Usually it would cost RM2-2.50 from KTM Serdang to Times Square. But when I flashed the card, RM3.10 are deducted. When I flashed the card during exit, still it was shown RM3.10 was deducted.

So the point is, if using rabbit card then the journey would cost more, why should we buy the card?
Then I checked the rabbit card usage in internet, there are some bloggers saying that the card would cost RM2, and the highest fare would be charged when we first boarded in, then it would return the fare and charged only the journey when we flashed the card upon exiting.

And I remembered my card was not able to scan when I went exit the bus. Think the maximum fare was charged for the trip which was RM3.10. Both ways costs RM 6.20 and RM2 was deducted. So leftover only RM1.20.
OMG~

Chatime, Berjaya Times Square

Chatime happens to be quite famous recently despite of the Taiwan's issue on milk tea.
I decided to try on Chatime milk tea although I heard many negative comments on Chatime.
We never know until we try it right?

After you place your order and pay the money, you should keep the receipt and wait for your drinks to get ready. Your drinks is ready when the number in your receipt appears in the numbering board (see the 5808 in the photos?)

There are a variety of drinks to choose on.

Customization
We can actually choose the size of the drink (regular or large), toppings, sugar options and ice options.

My regular Brown Rice Green Milk Tea with pearls
RM 5.90 with pearls add on (RM1 for pearls add on)
I chose 70% less sugar and 30% slight ice. Turns out the drink is quite sweet for my liking and cold too. I think I would opt for 30% slight sugar and 0% non-ice next time.

I love pearls a lot and the portion of the pearls given is definitely enough for me! But the pearls is pretty sweet. Next time I would add red bean or grass jelly as topping!
The brown rice green milk tea taste is quite new and good for me. But I would rate it as moderate because I don't find it special at all.

Free card given for stamping. I don't think I can fully stamp this card. Milk tea is too fatty and not healthy at all. Should not drink too often.

Sakae Sushi, The Mines

A new outlet of Sakae Sushi in The Mines!

All of us ordered the promotion lunch sets which came with green tea.

A pack of green tea pack was given.

There is hot water in every table which customers help themselves with making the hot green tea. Cold green tea is available too and it is poured by servers.

Semi-open kitchen. There is also a screen at every table where all of it is about Sakae Sushi.

The menu.

A must have for Japanese foods. Wasabi and soy sauce. Sweet soy sauce is available upon request. Unlike Sushi King, both soy sauce can be found on the table.

red plate RM 5.99
forgot what was it already~

 salmon sushi RM3.99 (pink plate)

 Chicken teriyaki don RM7.90
the chicken portion was good but there were too much fatty chicken skin. The bowl was shallow and rice portion was small. Think this is a smart tactic as it encourages people to order and spend more?

 Shiogayaki don RM 8.90

Spicy salmon temaki RM1.99 (green plate).
The chef actually put  the two temaki in wrong colour plates and luckily he came to our table and changed it.

 Tuna Temaki RM 1.99
I ordered this as an ending since the price was not high and it was good.

My companions of the day.

Overall the meal was satisfactorily. The outlet was cleaner, newer and service was more reliable than Sushi King.

Vuition 21st birthday celebration~

I'm the oldest girl in my room now! Since my closest roommate, Yan Shin has graduated and is now working, I'm the only senior still stuck in UPM for my  last semester in the room.

Happy 21st to Jia Ying@Vuitiion.
Since she is a vegetarian, it's pretty hard to get one cake plus there is no fridge to store the cream cake. We bought two Swiss roll from the infamous The Bakers Cottage a day before her birthday. I left the cake in the room and went for night class. When I returned to the room, I was amazed with the other two roommates creation, which you can see from above. They utilised one pack of chocolate wafers they had and arranged nicely on top of the sliced Swiss roll. See the 21 and 生日快乐?

We gave her the cake after 12 midnight. Aiya, her closest roommate made a video to her. Directed by Aiya, photographed by me and acted by four of us, including the graduated roommate. She was surprised and happy because the video was pretty funny and she had no idea we had done so much for her.

***By the way, from the pictures of four of us above, can anyone notice I'm the oldest? I don't think so, right! Haha. I'm just as  young as they are.

Yan Shin's with her tofu fish rice

We also had a great day on her birthday. A random singing K session in Green Box and a planned dinner at South City. We fetched Yan Shin at KTM Serdang after her work, had a vegetarian dinner together and went shopping at South City just like old days. Just this time, there was a new member junior hanging around with us.

Singapore Trip: Day 3

We checked out in the morning because I had to catch the bus in JB at 1.45pm  back to KL.

We went to Queen Street to take a bus to the Singapore Customs. We stopped by Burger King for breakfast.

My hot coffee and Sarah's hot tea

My breakfast BK Shots Egg Benny SGD 3.50...omelette with turkey ham..with a tiny pack of cake stick

Sarah's...turkey sausage SGD 5,25 with cake sticks

Next time I would go for Burger King again...the taste was good compare to McD and KFC but too bad the price was a bit higher

I bought a RM10 SanDisk pendrive in the JB IT fair before taking the bus to KL

Singapore Trip: Day 2

Since Bugis junction was just opposite the place we stayed, we headed there hunting for breakfast.

Since it was quite early, there was not many choices. We went to Yoshinoya for the congee.

Chicken congee at SGD 2 at promotion price. The chicken portion was way too little compare to the promotion material illustrated.

Pretty tasteless. Luckily got free flow of ginger and soy sauce as condiment to us to finish.

Then we went to Marina Bay.

We asked for directions from the MRT station staffs. We are told that we had stopped at the wrong station. We were supposed to stop at Raffles Place if we wanted to go Marina Bay. But then we walked in order to indulge in the scenery and to save money and time.

Me with the red one.

Sarah with the blue one.

The transparent 3 floor lift at The Marina Bay Sands.

And so coincidence that Sarah met her two guys old schoolmates in SG and we decided that four of us walked together. What a small world it is but I did not have any pictures of my two new friends. Four of us went to the Casino together and three of them (and not me) actually gambled but just a few SGD dollars to try on the luck. Three of them did not managed to get back their money. Sarah and I managed to have a cup of hot MILO there and got some drinking water from the Casino. The casino was really clean and classy. Unlike casino at Genting so smoky and noisy.

the tiny Marina Bay drinking water

Sarah's favourite Hello Kitty! You certainly won't want to know the price.
LV can be seen everywhere in SG and obviously it was highly protected though.

Dance of Time

The historical Fullerton Hotel

The artistry bus

For lunch we settled down in Din Gi Noodle House at Dhorby Gaut MRT station

I had the set Mapo rice, comes with one veggie selection and one soya drink selection. I had the ginger spinach and surprisingly it was served cold. And it was appetizing too...
The set was priced at SGD 7.80 and there was an extra 10% service charges.

my hot black soy. tasted a bit weird.

Skypark from far. Need to pay entrance fees to enter the it.

Sarah and I at with the Merlion

Tried the butterscotch popcorn and it was awesome. Decided to buy one back to treat my roommates. There are variety of flavours to choose but butterscotch still tasted the best.

I bought the Cornery smallest combo of butterscotch gourmet popcorn at SGD3.50. Forgotten at which mall I bought it. Sarah reminded me it was at ION Mall. Thank you~

So cutie the bins in the SG roadside

The escalator got the blue footprints!

My purple friend...met somewhere at Orchard Road~

For dinner we settled down at The Bugis Junction as well.

 My double salmon bento SGD6.50

We could garnish the black sesame on my own.

The bento comes with a bowl of Miso soup

And found a really tall and skinny girl in one of the mall at Orchard road

 Her legs

 Her body
