Winnie's Cafe

I always wanted to try out the artistic dishes from Winnie's Cafe, thus I made a call to Winnie's Cafe for reservation for TCC birthday dinner. I didn't told him where we were heading for dinner. Nevertheless, he managed to guess the destination on last minute after my few hints. I told Winnie some favorite food of him: Peanut Butter Chicken, Egg Parcel Rice, Brocolli, Potato/Wedges, Ham. The rest of dishes I just let her to decide.

Foods can be turned to very artistic creation at Winnie's Cafe...No MSG & No Pork Served.

Egg Parcel Rice, Grill Chicken Beef Blankets & 5 Small Dishes: Lady Finger with Sambal, Wedges, Black Pepper Lamb, Fried Squid & Fresh Strawberries

We didn't realised the dark thingy was black pepper lamb until we had a chew on it. Super love the black pepper lamb. The sambal for lady finger tasted quite weird, not up to my liking. Strawberries and fried squid were nice too.

Peanut Butter Drumstick, Bird Eye with Brocolli & 5 Small Dish: Mashed Potato, Pickles, Fried Mushroom, Salad & Sort of bread/ham roll.
The peanut butter drumstick was marvelous. Must try for peanut butter lover! I don't quite like the pickles,. Very sourish with lots of artificial vinegar. I didn't fancy the bread/ham roll and mashed potato too. But the fried mushroom was good~

Total price for two plates=RM46 (25+21). We were given 5% discount too.

Super awkward and discomfort cause only two of us had the dinner at the cafe, with light off some more and religious background music. However, we enjoyed our specially made dinner and thankful for Winnie for the thoughtful food and arrangement.

台湾炙烧牛排

Located somewhere at 4th mile, 台湾炙烧牛排 is a whole new eatery place in the city. Interesting place to be, the ordering method and eating environment are quite different than I always have in Kuching.

You take a seat-> You are presented with menu and order chit -> You decide what to eat and write down  -> You went to cashier in front to order, pay and get your table no. -> Back to seat -> Free flow of cold red tea, iced water and corn soup are available -> Wait for your main course

Interesting place to be. Perhaps it is set up according to Taiwanese style.

the only yet simple menu

order chit

how big and obvious is the table number...

free flow of corn soup & red tea

Golden Steak RM 23.90
thick noodles served with fried steak and sort of sweet, creamy BBQ sauce, 2 pieces of Broccoli and egg in hot plate...you can choose rice instead of noodles...

Grilled Lamb Chop RM 17.90
thick noodles served with grilled lamb chop and sort of sweet, creamy BBQ sauce, 2 pieces of Broccoli and egg in hot plate

the portion wasn't as generous as we thought it was with the price we pay. I guess the all the prices in the menu include the charges of the free flow of water and soup.

I only like the brinjal and sambal (but too spicy for me!) for this whole dish! The chicken was so dry and I don't like the tempe at all...

Charcoal Fried Kueh Tiao, Chawan Road

I don't fancy Kueh Tiao but Charcoal preparation of Fried Kueh Tiao at one stall situated at a house at Chawan Road was good. The business was rather good. At that time I went there, they were running out of Kueh Tiao at 8pm. Two customers walked away when they were informed that Kueh Tiao was no more available.

pics taken from KFC page

4 tables for seating were provided

Bittergourd Fried Kueh Tiao

Cathay Oriental Park & Satok 福星光

Found this place for a breakfast after a Sunday jog at Kuching Waterfront. Walked around the old street and accidentally found this Oriental Park at Old Cathay Cinema that many recommended at KFC group. We managed to secure a table although it was pretty crowded there.

His Black Straight Kolo Mee & Kopi C

My White Curly Kolo Mee & Teh C
In our opinions, the taste was only on average but their services were pretty friendly and we did not need to wait too long for our foods to arrived. RM8.60 for the above 2 kolo mees and 2 drinks.

Went for a super late lunch after completing restaurant audit at Rubber Road

Satok 福星光 Fish Head Vermicelli RM 8
Love the creamy, sweet and little sour of the soup.

updating...

Everyday was a raining day for the past few days. I almost late to work and I took almost an hour to reach home everyday. I guess the weather and also our Malaysia day rehearsal was making the traffic so terrible for the past one week. Every working day was pretty much the same. Very routine and sort of get used to it. Periodically went to a few outlets to make some checking and writing reports. Browsing my SD card, I just couldn't decide what to write. So I guess I'll just combine everything in one post!

Super missed Roti Pisang that I used to eat often during my uni time but in Kuching, I find hardly find people selling Roti Canai  selling Roti Pisang. Happened to find out Rumah Hijau got and we went there but Roti Canai habis liao.

When life gives you lemon, make a lemonade!

得不到的东西, 我们会一直认为他是美好的, 那是因为你对他了解太少, 没有时间与他相处在一起. 当有一天,你深入了解后,你会发现原不是你想象中的美好.
