The Banquet Ramadhan Berbuka Puasa Buffet, Kuching

The Banquet Ramadhan Berbuka Puasa Buffet
Must make reservation before going cause it would be full all the night

Teh Tarik
Got air bandung, ice lemon tea, sarsi, soya bean drinks...those that I'm able to recall

I had air bandung too but I forgot to snap photos cause got insects inside

hmmm..while waiting other foods to get ready, we have some dim sums

braised vegetables with mushrooms, roasted chicken, ikan masak merah and fried fish with oats
*the fish with oats was nice. others so so only

Sliced barbeque chicken and pizza (I sprinkled some parmesan powder on top)
the sliced chicken was good

Roasted lamb leg with mint sauce. got black pepper sauce too and it was splendid.
The lamb was pretty delicious.

Oh the highlight of the dinner! So awesome and it was my favourite.
salad prawns, jelly fish and sliced abalone. I love the abalone so much! Too bad the staffs did not refill the abalone or else I would finish it.

Durian fried rice. Mild durian taste. Nothing special for the fried rice.

It's a a la carte buffet type. So you just need to go each stall and  take whatever you like.
It was early so it was empty.

Corn soup

Fish with sambal and sambal squids
Not nice at all~

ABC

I chose red bean and cincau. Mana tahu the red bean not nice at all. The softness of the red bean was different and not enough sweet. Maybe they mixed with overnight one. Who knows?

Ice-cream
Get some to try first in case not nice. No wastage. And it turned out not nice too. Haha.

Chicken satay and beef satay
Again, not nice at all.

My stomach was full and it's time to have sweet endings. But the kuih muih selection was so so limited and langsung nampak tak sedap. Must grab something before leaving.

Siew Mai
Not nice

Sago mango and sago honeydew
Both are okay, sweet with some sagos

Dragon fruits before leaving

A buffet worth RM 44 per pax. Luckily it was a free treat. Honestly, it was a damage buffet. The foods there need much improvement. I won't pay RM44 for such meal. But some of the food preparation staffs was friendly.

Tropical Fish Cafe, Kuching

Tropical Fish Cafe is located just opposite the F & N factory near the Boulevard Hypermall. It is a house and  a boutique cafe. Some cute items are displayed to sell. The food items there are mostly western style.

7-up with orange syrup RM 4.80
The glass was rather huge than normal size. Sharing was good for me cause it would be too full to have one big drinks myself.

Our famous chicken chop RM 12.80
grilled chicken chop with black pepper sauce, boiled potatoes with mayonnaise as topping and sauteed vegetables
The plate was gigantic and heavy. The chicken portion was bigger size than those normal chicken chop and it was rather filling. At least no more french fries as starch product like usual but boiled potatoes. However it was fatty too because of the mayonnaise as the topping.

 Chicken Piccata RM 16.80
grilled chicken with cheese and eggs and black pepper sauce, boiled potatoes with mayonnaise as topping and sauteed vegetables

It was good too but it disgusted me if I were the only one to savour the whole plate of chicken and chicken.

I saw some customers had giant burger. I was amazed with the enormous size  and I recalled I did not came across of the food items in the menu. Upon leaving, I asked the waiter for price and it was priced at RM 15.80. At the first glance, all I could see was  fried chicken in giant burger and some french fries. It was enough for 2-3 people sharing, I think. If I knew it earlier, sure I would order it since I never really order such  a big burger to eat.

A post

I'm going back to Uni for my final semester (4 months ++) in two weeks time.
Time flies. I have not done much for these few months.

I worked twice during the holidays. 3 days administrative assistant and 21 days rice promoter.

I went to Kota Kinabalu and Labuan for a short trip. I went to Betong twice for my ikan buntal--my final year project.

I transcript my interviews until I feel horrible. Keep repeating listening own voice can be torturing yet funny.

I have outings with friends. Meals, celebration, chit-chatting.

I shop, I eat, I spend, I think, I learn, I talk.

I spend much time my my little niece, Queenie. I feed her. I play with her. I change cloths for her, and I do scold her and mumble about her. I see her growing. It's pretty amazing. (I'm a not bad baby sitter LOL)

I read blogs, watch videos and study elsewhere.

I hate to start my 5 chapters of my final year project. It reminds me of the infinity work. Read, write, read write.

Yet, I'll be back to the hustle and bustle world real soon. Assignments, discussions, presentation and human conflicts. I'm scared to face it but good thing is it would eventually come to me no matter how I hate it.

For the coming schooling session, I have a few resolutions:

I wish to

-spend less time face-book-ing (I think only lazy and nothing to do people fb all the time, which I'm the one currently)

-spend less time watching HK dramas in hostel (I happen to be huge dramas fan when I'm back to Uni hostel, sob, cause it's the cheapest and easiest entertainment among all)

-spend more time with ikan buntal and words

-broaden my mind ( Don't get hurt with certain people actions and words, learn to keep my mouth shut and see nothing)

-give myself more opportunities (I have given up many grown-up chances in the past. I wish I could overcome my cowardliness and give myself more courage. Why not consider internship elsewhere?)

-less miss home ( It would be pretty pretty hard but I'm learning. 3 years has passed and I believe I could do it for the rest)

Lynn's birthday night at Sanga

Second visit to Sanga

Free flow of green tea at RM 1.50

 Sarah's Unagi Set RM 20
my first visit I ordered this. Great for unagi lover but it is getting expensive and the portion shrinks~

 Lynn's and Sarah's sushi
 limited wasabi--sob~

 My Salmon Don RM 14
the salmon was good but nothing special for me

the salmon don comes with fruits and miso soup
don't really like miso soup

the Leo's birthday girl
luckily I remembered to bring a candle out~thanks for the staff there for using the lighter to light out the candle for 3 or 4 times cause it kept blown out

Tom's Cocoa Napolean RM 1X.75
pretty pricey and tiny but yummy
layer of cheese, chocolates and cake
it's a gift for Lynn so the exact price is not revealed here~

Tom's contact no. and address

Sarah, me and Lynn

Fan Ching, me and Lynn

It was a great night cause I get to know a new friend, Fan Ching from Lynn and Sarah. We got ourselves some photo shooting although we just knew ourselves less than an hour. And I couldn't recall how long I celebrated birthday with Lynn. Perhaps primary times till now?
Coincidentally, I bumped into Lih Shan that back from Taiwan at Sanga too on that night.

Yeow Kee Kopitiam, Premier 101

Early breakfast at infamous and busy Yeow Kee Kopitiam

 Teh C (Small) RM 1
Great drink~

Penang Fried Beehoon RM 3
with bean sprout, eggs and salted turnip
Pretty salty for me. Maybe it is because it is a la Penang, since Penang foods taste are stronger. Portion is also on average and definitely not enough for heavy eaters.

My favourite Liu Sa Pau (custard bun) RM 6 for 3 pcs

the filling-egg yolk and custard is hot flowing

but it could be a lot better. Can't beat the custard bun I ate in Kuantan years ago. Even Kim Bay and Yamitsu custard bun are not good enough.

Well, the foods in Yeow Kee is considered not cheap for breakfast, but the business is good. I think the cleanliness and the drinks business helps a lot.

Sushi King, The Spring, Kuching--Summer Promotion 2011

Since my sister has Sushi King Card 2011, so must utilize the card whenever I'm in Kuching~

I personally love the free flow of green tea and wasabi. Sushi King can open so many outlets throughout Malaysia because they grab the right customers concept--free flow of green tea, wasabi, sushi in conveyor belt in front of customers, RM 2 bonanza and seasonal promotions. Though the food in Sushi King is considered not superior and the service sucks all the time, but it still gains popularity among Malaysians. People loves helping themselves with food, seeing the sushi moving around in front of them and it increases appetite a lot. Though I owe seeing flies helping themselves with the sushi in some outlets I had visited, still so many people could not stop their craving for Sushi King.

We had the Summer Promotion
Soft Shell Crab Temaki RM6 for two. Upon serving, one of the seaweed of the temaki loose and the server just apologized to us. I think he should return to the kitchen and fix it but not merely apologizing. Nice handroll~love it. One is never enough!

Iri Goma Unagi Roll RM 5
How come the I can't see the Unagi? lol. So stingy.

 Salmon Skin Piri-Piri RM 4

 Salmon Surimi Maki RM 2

Inari Boat Tuna Mayo RM 4

Tamago RM 2

Just love the omelette. How to make the eggs so compact, yet drooling and delicious?

This time I did not had Unagi and Fresh Salmon sushi like usual. One plate RM5, cannot eat too expensive de.
