Backpacker Cozy Corner Guesthouse

For the short Singapre trip, I stayed at Backpacker Cozy Corner Guesthouse. It is situated opposite Bugis Junction. There are a few coffee shops nearby and the business are good. Too bad I never get to try it.

Check out their website here

Staying at Singapore is expensive for those who convert RM to SGD. Since I'm just a poor student with no income, I chose to stay at mix dormitory bed. There are 6 beds in a room at SGD 18/night/person.

Lockers are available for us to put our stuffs but we have to bring our own locks. I did not have locker with me so I just left my clothes and personal items there and luckily they were not missing.

No hanger and bedsheets provided. Just a pillow and a pillowcase were given.

The shared bathroom
Luckily there was hot water to shower. The bathroom was spacious and definitely enough for one to shower.

The shared toilets
No toiletries for use so we had to bring our own.

The shared basins. Everything was sufficiently clean except the naked pillow lol. Putting in pillowcase would be fine actually.

Place to rest nearby the bathroom..

There were 3 computers with free internet access for guests to use. Every time we had to queue and waited for our turns because all the computers were fully occupied all the time.

Sarah chatting with who? I know, she knows and he knows.

The hostel's corridor.

Free breakfast was given too. We had to toast our own breads. Jams, butter, coffee and tea were given.

Singapore Trip: Day 1

My first international trip! Singapore, The Merlion Land!

The efficient MRT in Singapore. Photos taking are not allowed but I managed to get one. People waiting to get in the MRT. Clean and no delay. Unlike Malaysian Public Transport.

Chinatown:

Bee Cheng Hiang can be spotted everywhere in the City

Clean and look new heritage building.

Flats and condominiums is everywhere

Heading to Maxwell Food Centre for dinner

Of course the infamous Fish Head Beehoon. But need to queue for it.

I had fish meat beehoon. SGD 4.
Awesome. The creamy soup was nice and aromatic. The best fish meat beehoon I had eaten. No wonder the stall was always so crowded with people. The beehoon there was different from those I always have in Malaysia. Thumbs up with this dinner. I supposed this was the best meal I had eaten in SG so far.

Sarah with her mee sua. My companion and tour guide for the trip. She said her mee sua was too tender and mushy. Different with Malaysia too.

What's so special with this place? People was queuing for it.

Walk to Clarke Quay too see the active nightlife in SG

And saw this. Wow. My heart was pumping fast when I saw from far. I don't think I dare to sit on it. Unless you give me SGD 1000000 for it. LOL.

And finally fall from top to the bottom.

Novus Cafe Bistro, Brighton Square, Kuching

Nata de Cocco Milk Tea
 RM3.90
colourful nata de cocco at the bottom of the drink

 Passion Float
RM3.90

Hot Honey Lemon
RM3.50
So sweet. The bartender must be overestimated honey or syrup portion in the drink. If that sweetness is their standard level, customers that drink it would get diabetes real soon.

 Fried Dumpling RM5.50

like the sauce and the dumpling. The dumpling is juicy.
Better than dumpling I tried at somewhere else.

What so special in this place is the live band performance. The place is kind of small with around than 10 tables. The live band sound is obvious that it is hard to chat unless talking to the one sitting next to you. There are games and cards available to play too.

Seoul Garden Korean Restaurant, Kuching

My order Set A

chicken marinated the main dish

the set comes with rice, chicken, a piece of fish, 3 kimbab, 3 side dish, seaweed soup and 2 piece of watermelon
 RM22
I don't think the set worth the price in complement with the taste.

I'm a typical Malaysian so I did not fancy the kimchi. But the omelette was nice.

Set C comes with spicy pork,  rice, chicken, a piece of fish, 3 kimbab, 3 side dish, seaweed soup and 2 piece of watermelon

First time tried a complete Korean meal and I did not like it very much especially the taste. Still prefer Japanese after all. And the so called Kimbab, the taste is like my homemade sushi, so not tasty at all. I guess I would not return for good unless someone treated me for free and did not give me other options. But the restaurant BBQ and steamboat seems to be pretty attractive and in fact expensive. Maybe those two are better than the two sets we had ordered.

Again, second visit to The Tarot Salmon Japanese Restaurant(2)

Yippi, Japanese foods again......
Most of my friends could not resist Japanese foods. I'm the same too...I'll never have enough of it...

Carol has the card which entitled for discount 25% of total bill...so can order something pricey to eat...

 Sashimi Mori Zen RM 15.90
Chuan's. He said the it was awesome. The taste, the cut, the freshness. He gave good ratings for it.

 Chicken Teriyaki Don RM12.90
Jessica's.
The rice portion was big.

 Unagi Udon RM 15.90
Sarah's.
The unagi is on the soup! I only fancy unagi with the sauce but not with soup. Should be udon soup and the unagi plated separately. She said overall it was not that delicious.

 Ebiko Gunkan RM 4.90
Sarah and Carol favourite.

 Chirashi Don RM 25.90
Carol's. She said the price here iwas cheaper than other place and the taste also not as good as other place too. Price indicates quality.

 Okonomiyaki RM 11.90
1 piece was great but not more than that.

Salmon Special Maki RM 9.90 (4pcs)
Mine since I had taken dinner so light foods should be okay. It turned out my order was last to come cause they missed out to prepare it. But I don't think this salmon special maki is good.
I don't know how to express either~

In the cave?
My companies of the night.
