Rising Ramen

Purchased the Rising Ramen@ Jln Song deal from Supermain for only RM18 with 2 Ramens and 2 side dishes. Indeed a worth deal.

Although can only choose a few types of ramen, but it was okay for newbies like me!

Kuro Ramen

wheat noodles in darker meat based broth and served with sliced pork, dried seaweed and green onion.

Original Rising Ramen

wheat noodles in rich meat based broth and served with sliced pork, dried seaweed and green onion.

Both Ramens were flavored with same toppings but different broths. The noodle portion wasn't generous, but the broth can make you very very full after consumption.

For side dishes we had:

Croquette

breadcrumbed fried mashed potatoes rolls with sweet and salty dark sauce

Chicken Katsu

fried chicken with sweet and salty dark sauce (same sauce with the croquette)

Little Owl Cafe

Little Owl Cafe is situated just below Central Inn Kuching. Couldn't really remember the exact menu pricing because I visited it last month ago!

Smoked Duck Aglio-olio, below RM15

quite nice but a little too hot for my taste buds. The spaghetti was cooked to perfection al-dente and made a good match with the smoked duck.

Chicken Chop with blackpepper sauce, below RM15 as well

Fried Potato Wedges, around RM5

not the typical petite wedges but giant fried wedges =)

Macchiato

Overall the pricing wasn't too high and fell in low-medium end category but the wait time was a bit too long considering only 2 tables occupied in the cafe. Presentation and food quality was acceptable and there is more space for further improvement. 

Wakakakaka Cafe, Brighton Square

Strategically located in Brighton Square, Jln Song, Wakakakaka Cafe is another hot and ideal place for dining and gatherings. This place employed all female service staffs and all of them were friendly and helpful. The cons was the place was rather small, therefore you were seated very close to the nearby tables.

a decent potato starter/appetizer with bit pieces of bacons. Not too sweet nor too over garnish with mayo sauce

Baa Baa Black Sheep

Lamb Chop with 3 sauces (creamy mint sauce, blackpepper sauce & mushroom sauce)  RM26.80

the lamb chop was cooked to perfection and tasted great even without the sauces!

Ice Cream Chicken Chop RM16.80

grilled chicken chop with mushroom sauce with coleslaw and french fries dipped in vanilla ice-cream

they use machine pump type of soft ice-cream. Surprisingly their french fries were good and still tasted good after a period of time.

Causeway Bay 2 Dim Sum Promotion

Causeway Bay 2 (Brighton Square) was having RM2 Dim Sum promotion for a short period of time. I had several days of annual leaves to be clear off before end of Dec, thus I went to try on the promo items during one sunny morning.

There were only 8 types of dim sum having RM2 promotion. We ordered 5 types out of 8.

Polo Bun...filling of pineapple custard in the sweet bread 

Sesame Ball...nothing to shout off

Yam Puff...loving the Char Siew wrapped in Fried Yam

Bamboo Roll...quite nice

Tao Sao Bun...average!

The bills came up to be RM17.60 inclusive of 5 types of dim sums (RM2 each) and two cups of hot drinks. Just nice enough to fill up 3 petite tummies.The taste of dims sums were quite satisfactory regardless of unrest and disorder queues and wait time. They should set up their system as soon as possible and hire more staffs especially during their promotion period.  Thumbs up to one of the male staff who performed prompt and friendly service during my visit.

Fresh & Simple Station

Recently there's a new eating trend developing tremendously in Kuching. Sandwiches! I'm always a Subway lover, thus I was keen to try on the sandwiches in Fresh & Simple Station. Located in Green Road, this shop is selling Submarine Sandwich with plenty of choices. 

I don't think we can customize our vegetables, salad, fruits or sauces like Subway did because they didn't offer me to do so. You pick your choice, pay and wait for your sandwiches. 6 inch/12 inch bread is available. Pay RM0.50-RM0.80 for topping up to other breads like Pumpkin bread or wholemeal bread.

6 inch Teriyaki Chicken Sandwich RM4.50, add on to pumpkin bread RM0.80

Tasted alright but less appetizing after you had the lamb sandwich!

6 inch Lamb Sandwich RM10.00, add on RM0.50 to wholemeal bread 

Super love this lamb sandwich! It's delicious but personally I think it's a bit expensive.
