Haidilao Experience in Central World Bangkok

-Visited Bangkok & Hua Hin in November 2019-

My first Haidilao experience, it was at Central World Bangkok. We went a day before to place booking but the staff advised us to just walk-in in the morning the next day as their booking for the next few weeks were already full.

So we went there again next morning around 11am, press for our ticket and waited for our turn. In less than 15 minutes, we got our tables as the place was not full yet. I even had not enough time for to munch on the snacks at the waiting hall.

Snacks & drinking water

We had some fruits and beans as appetizers.

Tofu 63baht, ring roll 56baht, lean pork slice (half) 75baht

Tomato & Mushroom Soup Base, and 2 plain water of soup base (135baht)

Wahyu Beef Half 550baht

Noodles Dance

White Fungus Dessert at the sauce & dessert bar

Sauce & Dessert Bar, self service sauce for 1 pax is 45baht per person

We told the staff that it was my birthday and the staff arranged a platter of nicely decorated fried mantou to me. But it was chargable to our bill =( LOLx

Fried Mantou 82 baht

When our meal was almost done, I received a call that it was my turn for manicure. The staff told me she will wait for me for 5 minutes, if not she will skip my turn. Upon hearing that, I quickly stuff the remaining foods and went for my manicure. I took the manicure queue number after I press the ticket for Haidilao. There's only 2 staffs doing the manicure. According to my nail artist, normally two of them will serve only around 80+ clients per day.

Last for not least, ice-cream as dessert before leaving Haidilao.

Noodles are Free, what a steal

Total Spending: 1,148baht + 7% = 1,228baht (0.1389, around RM170.57)

We can actually save more by not ordering the Wahyu beef as we realized we are not very keen on tasting the beefy taste. Nevertheless, it was a special and worth experience as I managed to get my manicure done for free =)

Generally, having Haidilao in Bangkok is quite worth as compare to Haidilao in Malaysia. Some items in the menu are generally cheaper in Bangkok even after you convert to MYR.

Hunting foods around Hua Hin City Center

(Visited Hua Hin & Bangkok in November 2019)

Random foods found along our trip:

Rice Ball 27baht & Dragon Fruit 25 baht

Read a post about how nice is the Roti Prata at Ku Roti Cha Chak, we decided to give it a try and ended up walking for 20 minutes or more from our hotel and we still can't confirm whether is the same place from the post. We ended up asking the staff there, to our horror, first staff was unsure and second staff said it was their place.

Milk Tea 40baht

Crispy Roti with Milk & Sugar 35baht

Roti with Egg & Banana 40baht

Total spending for 2 roti & 1 drink 115baht

Roti pratha were nice but overly sweet to eat 1 go

Went into a small lane somewhere not far from Hua Hin Night Market for a bowl of Beehon soup

Mix Noodle 40baht

Crowded with a lot of locals

Read about another local congee shop named Je Ann Raan Jok located not far from our hotel, we walked around to search and to our horror, there's no other customers at the time we went there. Probably we were among the first & earliest to go.

Had some trouble ordering the foods there, ended up we just pointed on the foods we want.

1 Pork Congee, 1 set of Patonggo & 1 Coffee 70baht. Tea was complimentary.

Congee was good & comforting.

Jek Bek-Ak Seafood (Night) & Som Moo Joom (Morning)

-Visited Hua Hin & Bangkok in November 2019-

As mentioned earlier in my previous post, I stayed at Hub Hua Hin 57 Hotel which is conveniently located at Hua Hin City Center. The famous eatery at Hua Hin, Jek Bek-Ak/Som Moo Joom is just few walks away from the hotel. Try to arrive there at 5.30-6pm then you won't have to wait long for your table. We almost did not realized this eatery place until we saw people start to crowd the place.

Coconut 50baht & Satay 40baht

Seafood Sukiyaki 160baht, rice (not in picture) 10baht

Highly recommend to try the Sukiyaki here as the soup is flavorful and price is very reasonable too

The next morning, we went back to the same place for breakfast.

As usual, we have to wait outside for awhile for seats. Some menu available are:

There are many stalls selling different kind of foods. Once you are seated, the staff there will take your order one go and screamed loudly to place order to different stalls there.

Beehon Pork Soup

Chicken rice 35baht

Total spending is 85baht for 2 meals & 1 hot milk tea

Meal was good and cheap and if you have bigger appetite, you could order more as the portion was rather small.
