Snowflakes, Midvalley (2) / Shihlin, The Mines (2) / Sushi Zanmai, The Gardens

I have so many food posts queuing. Since these few weeks were pretty tough with presentation, test 2 and assignments, all the posting was postponed.

Finally had Japan Combo II from Snowflakes. RM6.90.
Rather disappointing as it did not taste good as it looked. I wish the Ocha Ball is more chewable and springy.

Shelvi's.

Finally tried the oyster mee sua from Shihlin. Not good at all. No second time.

Third finally. Finally tried the Sushi Zanmai at The Gardens after queuing. I don't know why there is always a queue at Sushi Zanmai. Just the matter the queue is long or short one.

Wasabi and soy sauce as condiments.

My Salmon Don (Small) RM 10.80

Salmon always the best subjects in my Japanese dining experience. Nothing would go wrong if order Salmon. Unless it is not fresh.

Next update certainly reserved to my Malacca trip! See ya.

Sakae Sushi, The Mines (2) again!

This plate was given free  for presenting TGV movie ticket. I love this. So delectable.

 MyTeriyaki Chicken Ramen RM12.90

Love the ramen and the soup. The soup was savoury but since I always prefer something lighter, the savoury taste was a bit too strong for me.

Hot Calpis with Lemon RM 5.90

Curry Katsu Don RM 12.90

Ebi Ten Don RM15.90

Pink Plate RM3.99
I ordered this since I think Japanese meal was rather incomplete without salmon.

Thank you to my two roomies for the Sakae meal treat and kept me company on my 23th birthday. Appreciate it though there were no birthday surprise and celebration.

Sakae Sushi, The Mines

A new outlet of Sakae Sushi in The Mines!

All of us ordered the promotion lunch sets which came with green tea.

A pack of green tea pack was given.

There is hot water in every table which customers help themselves with making the hot green tea. Cold green tea is available too and it is poured by servers.

Semi-open kitchen. There is also a screen at every table where all of it is about Sakae Sushi.

The menu.

A must have for Japanese foods. Wasabi and soy sauce. Sweet soy sauce is available upon request. Unlike Sushi King, both soy sauce can be found on the table.

red plate RM 5.99
forgot what was it already~

 salmon sushi RM3.99 (pink plate)

 Chicken teriyaki don RM7.90
the chicken portion was good but there were too much fatty chicken skin. The bowl was shallow and rice portion was small. Think this is a smart tactic as it encourages people to order and spend more?

 Shiogayaki don RM 8.90

Spicy salmon temaki RM1.99 (green plate).
The chef actually put  the two temaki in wrong colour plates and luckily he came to our table and changed it.

 Tuna Temaki RM 1.99
I ordered this as an ending since the price was not high and it was good.

My companions of the day.

Overall the meal was satisfactorily. The outlet was cleaner, newer and service was more reliable than Sushi King.

Fui Ying's Birthday Celebration & Sushi King Bonanza April 2011

Fui Ying's birthday celebration, a day late of her actual birthday

Fui Ying was making the wish

Blueberry slice from Bread Story...the cake was soft and fluffy. Not bad!

I'm just reluctant to throw the box. It's so adorable. Still, the box is at my side now. LOL.

Again, The Mines Sushi King since it is nearest to UPM. Roughly waited for less than 30 minutes for our turn.
My two aims when heading to bonanza. UNAGI & SALMON. not the smoked one, preferably raw salmon.

Now the sushi part.

mostly smoked salmon available

scallop was available too. I ate 2 plates of it.

My total sushi plate count = 7 (1 unagi, 1 raw salmon, 1 tempura, 2 scallop, 2 smoked salmon)

Wasabi with soy sauce was a must with the sushi

self service of free flow of green tea which actually we get it all by ourselves

Disappointed. I love Unagi the most but end out only 1 plate eaten.

Now, proceed to people part.

The friendly  manager/staff mentioned to us that 34 plates for 5 of us was not a big deal at all. He came across bigger eaters. A compliment I perhaps?

Love the night so much with lovable friends and foods.

Time flies. Wonder whether there's a chance for outings like this again?

Pasta Zanmai, 1 Utama

 Pasta Zanmai, Bandar Utama

Fruit Tea RM16 for two

I liked the fruit tea. Refreshing. The tea was well combined with all kind of fruits. The fruit tea was definitely better than Xian Ding Wei Taiwanese Tea Room@The Spring Kuching.

we order mini rice pasta set..Ebiten Unagi, comes with a miso soup RM 23

Unagi with  Rice, spotted the egg yolk? perfect match with unagi!

Tempura Pasta

the mini set is too much for 1 pax but just nice for 2 people sharing. Never eat too full for a meal! Leave our stomach with some space!

This was my second visit to Pasta Zanmai. It is not like I love this chain so much, just that I prefer to try something else, but since at that time most restaurants still had not yet open for business, Pasta Zanmai was my ultimate choice.

Perhaps Sakae Sushi or Sushi Zanmai next time?

Perfect ending...Pasta Zanmai, Mid Valley

Upon finishing my final paper on 21 Nov, Sunday 4pm, I went by KTM to Mid Valley to have a sumptuous dinner. Pasta Zanmai was the place chosen since I heard a few good things about their special pizza.

First order,

Mini Ikura Salmon Pasta & Mini Chicken Katsu Rice RM 23

We thought it is small as it is written mini chicken katsu rice, but the rice and chicken turned out to be quite generous portion. However, the chicken katsu is not that nice, something like you could find at a normal cafe, nothing special, only it does make us very very full.

Salmon Pasta. Well, this is kind of small portion but quite nice. Must try out the pasta when visiting Pasta Zanmai. Not bad after all. But I bet one people is quite impossible to finish off the whole set of the Mini Ikura Salmon Pasta & Mini Chicken Katsu Rice. So better off for sharing, if not you will end up wasting the great foods!

Second order:
Unagi Kabayaki to Onsen Tamago no Pizza
Roasted Eel & Hot-spring Egg Pizza  RM 26

6 pieces in one whole pizza. Great for sharing!

See the egg? Gosh, the pizza is a perfect one! The thin crust is even thinner than other that I have tried before such as Vivo & Papa Jones. It is so different. The crust is crunchy and best eaten while it is still hot. The half-boiled egg is another significant point here, eaten together with the pizza with the yolks melting plus my favourite UNAGI. Highly recommended!

Too full by ordering the above 2 sets for 2 person. 3 person sharing for 2 sets is just nice & adequate. Good foods sucks if eaten at large quantities, am I wrong?
