but there is tons of assignments & reports

that means I can't rest & relax well for the holidays

By the way, I had watched Phua Chu Kang at GSC Mid Valley
the storyline is just average
the screening makes me recalled back the moments I watched PCK series when I was young(at least younger than now)

overall the food is okay. at least better than Pizza Hut. The service is good and the staff there are rather friendly. The cake tasted not bad...got chance i will opt for the Tiramisu next time. All prices is subject to 10% service charge. good thing is there is no 5% government tax!

the pearl was kind of hard, not elastic, prefer Kokoberry pearl

as the cafe name Mister Bean, you can find many kinds of soya products and soya dishes at the cafe, a healthier soya choice to dine.

Western Set Lunch at L'Apprentice Putra Restaurant, UPM

Seniors has commercial cooking class on every Tuesday this semester.I have always wanted to try their cooking skills and this time with the theme Western, I spent RM 25 for the lunch.

The single use menu:

Smoked Salmon with tossed Green Garden Salad

Pumpkin & Leek Vichyssoise with crouton

Main Course

Herb crusted rolled with chicken with mushroom Risotto served with saute vegetables

see the portion? it looks small but I did felt full after having 6 pieces of the small chicken rolled with Risotto. Risotto was quite nice and I liked it. (Risotto=Italian rice) The herbs sauce was weird and generally insufficient. But then after that they refilled the sauce to me.

Classic Chocolate Mousse serve with vanilla ice-cream & strawberry sauce
the texture of the mousse was not smooth...the raspberry sauce with ice-cream was a lot better than the mousse.

Herbs is mainly used in the set lunch but I hardly tasted herbs flavor in the dishes. Every dishes is a total disappointment to me. But it is really cheap as I can get refiilliable water, bread, appetizer, soup, main course, dessert and coffee/tea at only RM 25.



I'm sorry to say but I'm not really into second visit although the theme Japanese & Korean are coming soon.

Ordering the same thing when I was in Genting, the portion and service at Genting was much better than my latest visit. It was dinner hour and  many families queue up to dine at Ah Yip Herbal Soup.  The waiting time was long and the foods served were not up to their usual standards during the peak hours.

Sushi again? with little touch of Inception...

 While waiting  the screening of Inception, went to Sushi King Happy Hour for a late lunch (high tea?)There is 20% discount for all sushi on the conveyor belt from 3pm to 5pm, since 15% is included in the bill, so harshly speaking we get only 5% off for the sushi.

probably it was promotion period, the servers of Sushi King were rude, there was no one refill green tea for us. When we ask for refill, they were unhappy, slow and reluctantly refill the tea  for us. Bad impression to Sushi King at The Mines.

 

nice movie, but I could hardly understand all the scene... found out Ellen Page who is the main actress in Juno is one of the actress in Inception...

The last day of July...

#1. Kuching Festival 2010 kicks off July 31 

Just like the previous 2 years, I miss it once again. Actually there is not a big deal missing the opportunity of visiting the annual Kuching Festival, merely it reminds me of leaving home for 3 years time.

 

#2. Days are getting busier. Week 4 will start the day after tomorrow, meaning Test 1 & 2(Week 5 & 6) is just around the corner. After Week 7 &8, I will back to my lovely hometown for 2 weeks Raya break. Can't wait the day to come!

 

#3. Yesterday I went to The Gardens. I'm broke again because my one of my RM 50 notes  has gone just like that.  I spent RM 46.70 for a meal. Wondering why? where? how come? with who I spent the money? Is there any special occasion on it? Well, stay tune for my following post~

#4. My 5th semester

Guess what courses  I take and what kind of lecturer I confront  for this semester?

1. General Chemistry

Pretty funny huh only take general chemistry on my 5th sem? It was a long story though so I might as well skip it, due to the fact that I need to comply with my credit hours in order to graduate. kinda tough taking this because I have been 3 years lost contact with chemistry. Everything starts from the beginning and what I really hate is all the reports are written manualy by hand and I need to translate the manual from Malay to English!

2. Food Service Cost Control 

The lecturer is the Dean of a Faculty from Universiti Tun Abdul Razak. He gives boring lecture and only lectures about main point in the end of lecture. On the beginning he will talk lots of ways becoming a Jutawan.

3. Food Service Systems & Operations

The lecturer of this course according to him is the friend of famous celebrities Chef Wan. His style is pretty similar of Chef Wan. He hates people address him as 'Sir' because he has the title Dr.

4.  Food Law

Just photocopy the latest Food Law & Regulations book. The tests are open book tests so I have to familiarize with the book.

5. Equipment Layout Design 
I have AutoCad class every week because I need to use the software to draw the layout of a restaurant with the right dimension and angle. The lecturer of this course loves to say "Finally", "The last slide before I ended the class"  in the middle of the lecture to catch our attention.

6. Restaurant Management

I suppose to take this course on my last semester but due to some problems, I have to join seniors and take this course. This course requires much energy and time and is the sole reason that I am totally broke. We have to come out a business plan to open a restaurant and the proposal will be taken to a former CIMB financial consultant to evaluate whether  to give financial approval. We have to search for the most strategic location and check out the size of it and survey how many cars will pass by and drop by to dine in.
