Mothers' Day Celebration

Our family went for dinner as an early celebration of the special day. This time is my sister to treat us a dinner meal. It's our family culture that my brother and sister takes turn alternatively to pay the bills for our regular family meals. I will be joining sister and brother very soon....oh NO!!! 

The initial plan is to go Sweet Happiness to have meals so that can order my favourite salted eggs crab. We did not make reservation and the Sweet happiness restaurant was fully packed with customers that night. We requested for empty table and the boss/cashier was so unfriendly to us and she pointed her fingers to a messy table. We sat and requested for the staffs to clear our table but no one execute it. We waited and waited and frankly speaking, we started to get angry as no one entertain us. We asked the staffs for more than 3 times to clear the tables but they did nothing for it. In the end, we left the place and headed to the nearby Yun Yan Restaurant. Oops, my crab is gone.

Dinner of the day:

Fried Midin with garlic (Medium-RM15)

Braised Bean Curd (M-RM15)

Sweet Sour Black Pomfret (M-RM20, fish brought our own)

They fried the fish for too long until the fish meat was tough.

Braised Pork Leg with buns (M-RM55)

most expensive dish yet most disappointing one

Bitter gourd with salted egg....mom loves bitter gourd (M-RM18)

but too salty to eat alone. served best with rice~

My sister in law all time favourite dishes...Butter chicken (M-RM20)

Total damage was around RM170, inclusive rice, drinks and tea. Rather pricey for an 8 persons family meal compare with our previous one but this time was an exception as the place was classy a bit than other seafood place.

On the actual Mothers' Day, I baked the Crunchy Cheese Cake. The critical part was the whisking of egg whites and sugar till stiff.

eventually the cake just vanished in the following day (monday)...

 And bro came to an idea of BBQ and steamboat during the Mothers' Day. We were discussing and planning what foods to buy and how to set up everything a week before the actual day. It was our very first BBQ event in our house. 

A sudden blackout occurred after the thunderstorm and heavy rain in the evening. Nevertheless, we set up our DIY BBQ equipment while waiting for the SESCO technicians to fix back the electricity.
