Three layers, first bottom layer with cucumber pickles, middle with egg and top one with ham
kinda appetizing and great for a quick bite

Ham & Cheese for RM2

Open daily except Sunday & Public Holiday

#2 KL Morgan Pork Soup at Homemade Specialties, Ang Cheng Ho

Kueh Tiao Morgan Soup with poached egg RM5.50
I was amazed with the presentation of the poached egg. Very nicely done. The soup was very sweet and they claimed it as MSG free. The KL Morgan soup was also served with pork liver, minced pork meat, lean meat and garnished with three pieces of lard. A great meal to start the day.

#3 Easy Drink, Easy Go, CityOne Megamall

Something similar with Snowflakes, EDEG, CityOne in Kuching offers customized desserts with a few selections. Too bad they run out of taro balls during my visit. Although the standard is far not up to Snowflakes standard, it does satisfy my crave for desserts.

Grass Jelly as base, topped with green bean, red bean, taro and Panna Cotta Pudding RM6
love the creamy and milky panna cotta pudding

#3 Kurtos Spiroll, Pavillion

Kurtos Spiroll for display purposes
We were attracted with the spiroll as this is the first time we saw it. Upon listening to the explanation of the worker there, we bought one to try. He urged us to try Nutella Walnut.

Kurtos Spiroll

Nutella Walnut RM6.90
somehow a type of pastry, the spiroll tasted just like a soft bread coated with chocolate and walnut generously. We love it. There are a few ways of eating the spiroll. We just teared the spiroll spirally!

Imbi Market, Pasar Baru Bukit Bintang

Imbi Market is one of the best breakfast/brunch spot in the town. It takes around 20 minutes walk from Jalan Alor, Bukit Bintang to Jalan Melati, Imbi Market. Although the environment and surrounding seems pretty grubby, but the place offers many good foods and crowded with people.

Seated in front of the famous drink stall

Coffee & Teh C, priced at RM2 each
We wanted to try the signature Hainanese Drink but we didn't know what's the name, ended up we had coffee and milk tea instead =(

Sisters Crispy Popiah around RM2.20, Kaya & Butter Toast RM2 & Vermicelli with Ginger & Wine Soup RM8
Super love the ginger & wine vermicelli soup. The wine soup tastes so heavenly good and alike with mum homecook style, with generous portion of  fried ginger, fried eggs and pork meat. Why Kuching doesn't sell ginger and wine vermicelli soup?

This Kaya & Butter Toast is so yummy. Best toast so far I guess! Can I have some now?

Grabbed some pastries from the infamous Bunn Choon Stalls

Sesame Charcoal Tart RM1.80, Almond Tart & Century Egg Pie

Our favourite Century Egg inside the pastry! The sesame charcoal tart is good too.

We went there once again for second visit on the last day of the trip.

This time we manage to try Ah Weng Kor Famous Hainanese Tea. A special mix of coffee and tea. Very kao! Just a little too sweet for my taste buds. We also tried Chee Cheong Fun. You can pick and choose any piece of yong tau hu you like and I have it mine customized at RM6.80. Tried the round bun with kaya and butter but still the toast is still my top favourite after all!

Queue up to grab some pastries to bring back.

The top picks of the stalls
Luckily managed to grab one box of 6 after long queue and few complications! Sweat!

Less demanding pastries!

Certainly a great place for a lovely breakfast!

Thought of the day

我们的思路总是被常规限制着,在一个狭小的范围内打转,被常识或偏见牵着鼻子走。其实,很多事情只要换个思路,抛弃惯性思维,结局马上就会不同,正是:"山重水复疑无路,柳暗花明又一村".

Our conventional thoughts are always restricted within a narrow range, being led by the bias. In fact, if a lot of things could abandon the inertia of thinking, the outcome would be totally different from now.

MyKuali Penang White Curry Noodle

Out of curiosity, what's so special of the famous MyKuali Penang White Curry Noodle until the talk grips the whole nation?

Add on extra ingredients: TauhuPok, Tomatoes, Fish Ball, Crabmeat,Veggies & EGGS!

A bowl of hot and rich white curry instant noodles

Frankly speaking, it's not up to my liking. The mee is thick. I hardly finish one bowl of it. Luckily someone finished my leftover portion. After all I prefer Maggi Curry Flavor Instant Noodle. All time favourite.

He Brews Cafe

He Brews Cafe is situated at 3rd Mile Commercial Centre, Jalan Rock. Menu ranges from rice items, stir fry starch items and also Kolo foods accompanied with fish soups.

2 bowl of kosong kolo beehon/lao shu fen & 1 bowl of fish soup priced at RM 11

Don't get astonished by their small portion of chillis because they are good and spicy enough for us! They use two types of fish  in the soup. One of it is mackerel fish. Though the starch servings were rather humble, yet it made another satisfying and healthy kind of breakfast to start up the day =)

Butter Chicken & Winnie's Cafe Butter Chicken

#1  Saw a Butter Chicken Recipe in a website and I decided to try on with some self adjustment on the recipe. Doesn't really weigh those ingredients thus I don't have proper measurement on ingredients used.

Method
  1. Marinate the chicken with salt, pepper and egg white. Coat the chicken pieces with corn flour.
  2. In a pan, heat oil and deep fry chicken until golden brown. Set aside.
  3. In a different pan, melt butter and sauté garlic and curry leaves until aromatic.
  4. Add in sugar and evaporated milk and bring to boil.
  5. Reduce heat, and add in chicken stock, corn flour and water. Simmer for 3 minutes.
  6. Upon serving, pour the sauce over the fried chicken. Serve hot.

Tadaaa....
Too much butter sauce. Should reduce the water portion.

#2 Ordered peanut butter chicken from Winnie's Cafe. If you are a fan of peanut butter, pretty sure no one can resist this heavenly creamy and aromatic fried chicken. RM30 for 5 ppl. But the portion can serve more than 5 ppl for light eaters.

Peanut Butter Chicken with sides-mashed potatoes and strawberries.
